This year marked the first Partner Day organised by the Vehicle Industry Research Center, with the primary aim of building and strengthening relationships between the student teams and their partners. The event was opened by Dr Ferenc Szauter, Head of the Vehicle Industry Research Center, who praised the student teams and thanked the partner companies for their participation and support.
“The university provides a solid foundation. The sponsors supporting our student teams make a significant contribution to the institution’s activities, helping us develop an even stronger student community. Companies also recognise that young people who gain practical experience in this way become much more effective employees in the workplace.”
– he said.

Following the opening remarks, the student teams presented their work, beginning with the SZEnergy Team. The competition team develops and builds electric vehicles and achieves outstanding results year after year at the Shell Eco-marathon energy-efficiency competition.

This was followed by a presentation from the Arrabona Racing Team (ART). The student team, which develops Formula Student race cars, is once again aiming for the podium at every competition this year, with its development efforts focused on reducing vehicle weight and improving reliability.

A distinctive feature of ART’s race car is that its internal combustion engine is developed by SZEngine. The student engine development team is working towards becoming an engine supplier for teams participating in the competition series.

The event continued with a presentation by Széchenyi István University’s student satellite team. As explained during the presentation, SZESAT was focusing on organising the 4th World Telecommunication Day, while another of its goals was to build and operate its own PocketQube satellite.

The SZEviation student team is committed to promoting digitalisation and drone technology. The Partner Day provided an excellent opportunity to showcase its activities and demonstrate to sponsors the value of investing in digitalisation.

Széchenyi István University’s student teams put their expertise to the test not only on land, in the air and in space, but also on water. SZEnavis, the university’s concrete canoe team, is dedicated to developing an engineering structure that meets the competition’s requirements.

Following the presentations, visitors had the opportunity to explore the student teams’ stands and learn more about their work. The event also provided an excellent opportunity to establish new sponsorship relationships and strengthen existing connections with team members.
