Széchenyi University Vehicle Industry Research Centre: student teams held a partnership day

For the first time, a partnership day of student teams was organised and supported by the Vehicle Industry Research Centre of Széchenyi István University at the Management Campus . The teams presented their unique developments at the event.

This year, for the first time, the Partnership Day of the Vehicle Industry Research Centre was organised, with the main aim of building and maintaining relationships between student teams and their partners. The event was opened by Dr Ferenc Szauter, Head of the Vehicle Industry Research Centre. In his speech he praised the student teams and thanked the partner companies for their participation and support.

“The university is a solid foundation. The sponsors behind the student teams contribute greatly to the functioning of the institution, and this will create an even higher quality student base. Companies are also seeing that young people who gain work experience in this way become much more productive employees.” he said.

The welcome speech was followed by the presentation of the student teams, started by the SZEnergy Team. The team is involved in the development and construction of electric vehicles and has achieved outstanding results in the Shell Eco-marathon energy efficiency competition year after year.

This was followed by a presentation by the Arrabona Racing Team (ART). The student team, which develops Formula Student racing vehicles, is aiming for a podium finish in every competition this year, they want to achieve this result by reducing the weight of the vehicle and making it more reliable.

What makes ART’s racing vehicle special is that the internal combustion engine is developed by SZEngine, a team of student engine developers who are doing their best to become the engine suppliers for the teams participating in the series.

The event continued with a presentation by a team of students from the Széchenyi István University of Technology. As it was said, SZESAT is focusing on the organisation of the 4th World Telecommunications Day, and their further goal is to build and operate a pocket satellite of their own production.

The SZEviation student team is committed to promoting digitalisation and drones. The partner day provided an excellent opportunity to showcase their activities and raise awareness among sponsors that it is worth investing in digitalisation.

Teams of students from the University of Győr will test their skills not only on land, in the air and in space, but also on the water. The SZEnavis concrete canoe construction student team is dedicated to building an engineering structure that meets the parameters of the competition.

After the presentations, guests were able to visit the student teams’ stands and learn more about their work. It was also an excellent opportunity to build sponsor relationships and develop contacts with the team members.
