Széchenyi István University’s student team wins Europe’s largest energy efficiency competition with a world record for the fifth time
For the fifth consecutive time, the student team developing an electric vehicle at Széchenyi István University triumphed in Europe’s largest energy efficiency competition. SZEnergy Team took first place at the Shell Eco-marathon, held at the Silesia Ring in Poland, with a new world record of 332 kilometres per kilowatt-hour, breaking its own record from last year. The students from Győr outperformed more than twenty European university teams.

New Challenges for 20-year-old SZEnergy: SZE Team Enters Prototype Category
Last year marked the twentieth anniversary of the SZEnergy Team, the four-time world champion and world record-holding student competition team dedicated to developing the world’s most energy-efficient vehicle. To celebrate the occasion, a large-scale event was recently organised to recall the emblematic moments of the team’s history, while also presenting the plans for this year’s car.

Hungary sets world record for the third time at Europe’s largest energy efficiency competition
The SZEnergy Team, a team of students developing an electric vehicle at Széchenyi István University, has once again taken first place in Europe’s largest energy efficiency competition in the category of self-driving and electrically powered city cars. In the latter, they won first place, breaking their own world record for the second time.
