Széchenyi István University team wins Europe’s largest energy efficiency competition with a world record for the fifth time
For the fifth consecutive time, the student team developing an electric vehicle at Széchenyi István University triumphed in Europe’s largest energy efficiency competition. SZEnergy Team took first place at the Shell Eco-marathon, held at the Silesia Ring in Poland, with a new world record of 332 kilometres per kilowatt-hour, breaking its own record from last year. The students from Győr outperformed more than twenty European university teams.

In the latter, they won first place, breaking their own world record for the second time.

SZEnergy Unveils Its Car: Széchenyi István University Team Ready for the Racing Season
Last summer, SZEnergy Team made history by winning Europe’s largest energy efficiency competition with a world record. This year, the team will once again compete in the Shell Eco-marathon, aiming to defend its title in the traditional Urban Concept category and, after finishing second last year, to take first place in the autonomous driving competition. The Széchenyi István University student team presented its latest developments and unveiled this year’s car at the university before travelling to France, where it will compete in the autonomous category from 19 May.

Among the World’s Best: Széchenyi University Team Wins Silver at International Autonomous Driving Competition
The SZEnergy Team, Széchenyi István University’s student team developing electric vehicles, recently achieved the greatest success in its history by winning Europe’s leading energy-efficiency competition, the Shell Eco-marathon, with a world record. The team has now achieved another international success, finishing second in the Shell Eco-marathon Autonomous Challenge, a new competition for teams developing self-driving vehicles.

SZEnergy Team Wins Shell Eco-marathon with a World Record
The SZEnergy Team, Széchenyi István University’s student team, finished first at the Shell Eco-marathon in Assen, the Netherlands, Europe’s largest energy-efficiency competition. Their vehicle achieved a world-record result of 284 kilometres on just 1 kWh of energy, outperforming teams from leading technical universities in Munich, Toulouse and Milan.

Széchenyi István University’s SZEnergy Team finished fourth in the Shell Eco-marathon Autonomous Programming Competition (APC). The students outperformed teams from several renowned universities, including the University of California, Berkeley. Team members were congratulated at the university’s Vehicle Industry Research Center.
